When taking photographs I am assisted in remembering. By documenting the special moments, beautiful places, and story telling faces I see more closely what I may have other wise missed. I think I would experience the world in a much different manner if I did not take pictures. Moving in close to the skin of a flower with a rain drop resting gently, catching a smile of lips and eye that only two people in love might share, watching the fresh eyes of a baby examining the movement of light, capturing the raw passion of an artist braving a stage, stepping back as a wild and natural landscape takes over my entire view, these are some of the reasons I love photography...
I started with film photography about 10 years ago and within the past few years I've gotten more into digital. With a Digital SLR I finally feel like I'm holding and using a camera that responds like I want it to.
I love the sky in all its possibilities; cloud formations, stars, haze, bright blue, I especially enjoy twilight. I love books and music and wish I had a little more time to spend quietly reading and listening. I am inspired by artists of all kinds (and I use the term artist loosely, I think we are all artists in our own right) expressing their dreams, by the overwhelming beauty of the natural world around us and by the simple, subtle moments of daily life.
